Our work is not to make the gospel relevant to the world. Of course, we speak to the world in its own language. The whole idea of preaching the Word is to interpret it for the understanding of modern hearers. But the old liberal idea was to adjust the gospel to the pattern of the world to make it acceptable. If the world no longer believed in the supernatural, the solution was to preach a gospel devoid of the supernatural. This was a betrayal of the Christian message. We cannot compromise! To change the world we must be different from the world. We must challenge what people think. If they don't believe, we do not adjust to their unbelief.
